Reimagining Yemen’s Economy

“Reimagining Yemen’s Economy,” funded by the European Union Delegation and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Yemen, was conducted in Amman, Jordan beginning in March 2017. This project was carried out in collaboration with the Center for Applied Research in Partnership with the East (CARPO), Deep Root Consulting, and the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies.

This project sought to involve Yemeni actors in determining economic, development and humanitarian priorities in the country, as well as directing and guiding the efforts and assistance of the international community to serve urgently and directly in the interest of Yemeni citizens, especially in the post-conflict recovery and reconstruction phase.

The project aimed to build consensus around the most important and urgent policies by engaging and strengthening effective Yemeni voices to ensure the success of economic, development, humanitarian and social interventions during and after the conflict period in Yemen. Involving local actors from the outset will help ensure that the needs and rights of Yemeni citizens are met, and will help guide Yemen’s path forward towards lasting peace and development.

This project achieved three main objectives:

Enabled Yemeni voices to contribute to issues related to Yemen’s economic, development, humanitarian and social priorities; re-engaged Yemeni experts and created communication channels and platforms.
Built consensus on economic, development, humanitarian and social issues and priorities.
Positively influenced the local, regional and international development agenda related to Yemen.

We partner with local, regional and international organizations that are committed to the success of businessmen in Jordan.
